Matt and I headed over to HoodKroft Country Club to play 9 holes with Rick, Phyllis, and Sue.

What a nice surprise this course turned out to be!
Surrounded by marshlands on two sides, HoodKroft is an oasis of wildlife and nature.
It has an interesting layout designed to help golfers of all skill levels enjoy their day on the course. The many water features challenge advanced players while a variety of tee box locations help keep the course beginner friendly.

The ladies teed off from the reds while Rick played from the whites. Tony, the head pro at HoodKroft, advised us to switch up the tee boxes whenever we want to play a full 18.
“Doing this,” said Tony, “gives the second nine a completely different feel.”

In addition to enjoying a great round of golf, HoodKroft Country Club is a friendly, relaxed, fun place to hang out. The people we talked to were knowledgable about the history of the course and several have been playing here since it opened in 1971. They had a great time helping us out and showing us around.

After we finished playing, Tony sent us over to the kitchen to meet Jaime. She went out of her way to help me create a Gluten-free plate from their bar and grill menu. It was delicious! Matt had a BLT with onion rings.

As if all this isn’t enough to entice golfers to get out and play at HoodKroft Country Club… Take a look at this! Remember the Old Man of the Mountain? His iconic face lives on in Derry. You can get a great look at him near the tee boxes on the 8th hole.

HoodKroft Country Club is a New Hampshire golfing experience you don’t want to miss. Whether you play 9 holes or 18, you’re bound to find great views, lots of wildlife, iconic faces, and friendly people. Check out our video – then give Tony a call to reserve a tee time! You’ll be glad you did.
